Nicholas 'Nick' Carone

Nick Carone was an Italian-American Abstract Expressionist painter. Born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the eldest of seven children, he grew up in Hoboken, New Jersey. He lived in Rome for three and a half years, in Via Margutta: "There are just three sculptors there -- Marini, Manzu, and Fazzini, and I was right next door to him. Next door is Rothko.
