Preparations are in full swing in Naples, Italy, for the America’s Cup World Series, which begins on April 16. It is the third and final event of the 2012-13 America’s Cup World Series season and the last competition for teams before the Summer of Racing in San Francisco. Half a million spectators attended the Naples event last year; “The races last year were among the best I’ve seen in 33 years of involvement with the America’s Cup,” Tom Ehman, the Vice-Commodore of the Golden Gate Yacht Club, said. “The race village in Naples was the busiest among the AC World Series events and the spectacular opening ceremony was one that all of us will remember for a very long time.” Teams will start training on the Bay of Naples this week before the first races of the America’s Cup World Series Naples on Thursday April 18.
